What One?

Aye, most likely a GTX 560 Ti would be fine - as it is pretty energy efficient. However, going down this road gives you no option to run a second card in crossfire in the future.

The worry with an unknown PSU is that it won't be able to deliver the rated power and if you try it could shut down or explode. I'm not sure how high the quality of the alienware is, but Dell are not too well known for using high quality supplies (very much a mentality of: "it will work....just"). Hence the recommendations for a new PSU, this one for example would be a good choice if you plan to crossfire in the future (this will happily support two HD 6970 cards and an overclocked X4 955BE).

Edit: Good stuff for checking for the serial number - I was starting to think it was a something like this (ie bad news). After a quick google this is a report from the alienware PSU, looks like a decent unit and should support any of the graphics cards mentioned so far.

Well i got my alienware before dell bought them out! i think...

Also in the future i am going to do a complete rebuild and i would be able to use the GTX 560ti in my new one with maybe a SLi if i got spare money

I think when looking at the card i already got, any of these are going to be an improvement! :)

I can't see any reviews which offer a direct comparison (since the GTS 250 is pretty old now), but I can show it in two stages.

First, the GTX 260 (216 core) is the next step up from the GTS 250 - here is how it compares.

Next, here is how a GTX 260 compares to a GTX 560 Ti.

Thanks for all the help you guys :)

You know when you buy something do you use the account you sign into the forum with? or do you need to make an different account?
