Optical drives are so passée. USB flash and NAS for the win. For the odd occasion I need to dig some date off of a shiny slab of plastic I use the noisy slot in the laptop over LAN
Seriously, I still have floppy drives about at work. Some of the equipment I use needs to be flashed sometimes and floppies + DOS are far more convenient than some of the flakey workarounds
Pioneer DVD-RW drive but rarely use it unless installing something or watching a movie. Used to have one of the first LG blu ray burners but never used that much and sold it.
