what overclock speed do you have your E6300 or E6400 running at ?

Me 2. However I am running at stock at the moment just to make sure its the overclock thats causing it. I have a funny feeling it could be ram related i.e not getting enough voltage; as I would get lockups on idle. (was running at 2.1v, even though factory recommend 2.3v at eep settings)
Will let u know how i get on. :D

Yep came home today and found it'd locked up after I left it at 7am downloading Torrents, according to Event Viewer it froze 3 hours later - this seems totally random. I'd love to hear what anyone else has to say, as the system seems totally stable apart from this "minor" issue :p .

Running my 6300 at 3.15 but it will do 480 fsb for benching if needed, but its nice and quiet at 450 fsb and its plenty of performance until Quads come down to sensible levels, dont agree with spending loads on CPU's rather spend on GPU, board and ram, that where it matters

My rig in spec has been stable in everything including Orthos run 8 hours overnight but not having run Orthos for about a month i did for the sake of it and my machine locked after 2 hours.
Ambiant and system temps were lower than the last time i ran it and ive made no hardware changes.
Its still stable in everything bar Orthos.
Spooky

E6420 - Ive had it to 2.88GHz but cant seem to get higher. When i try above 360 I get bsod, ive tried upping the vcore upto 1.4v but nothing. Any tips?

Running on a asus P5W DH and 2GB Corsair xms2 6400

I had this problem. Are you making sure that you keep your ram the same when uping fsb.

Not sure what your bios is like but change this to manual.

Since I working this out ive got up to 3.2ghz on stock volts. Temps maxing out at 59 under stress on orthos for 12hr test. All stable. Played a few games as well which were fine also.

Might try 3.4ghz tonight
