What performance from 290x with Witcher 3?

use afterburner and rtss to set max frames to 60.

set in game limit to 60 with vsync off.

Set water to medium.

Set foliage distance to high.

Set sharpening to low

Set all other settings to maximum with your preference for hairworks or not.

Set tessellation level to 8X in CCC by making a profile.

You should be good to go for 1080p now.

If you have crossfire set the profile to sleeping dogs HD. Medium water is important for reducing stutter and introducing 80%/80% scaling with not so much flicker.

I'm almost good to go with 4k with the above. Just need those last 20/20 scaling % to get mostly 60. Wonder why my tv won't accept 1440p...

15.4 is fine for me tho so i dont think its that

15.4 windows 8.1 if that helps any
i would say check whats running in the background but i normally have tons running in the background + gaming evolved too :)

hmhm i duno youve checked the obvious how about the not so obvious like chipset drivers, sound drivers, any strange network stuff i duno...

Thanks for the suggestions. GPU is at stock so 1050/1350.

I have tried putting the in-game settings to the lowest they will go and it still stutters. I also tried the 14.12 drivers but it's the same. Stumped! :(

as you have a 2nd ssd you could try sticking another copy of windows on it
or even giving windows10 a go lol

takes like 20mins to install windows, usually faster than trying to find something random
i dont think its a gfx driver problem, could be hardware but u duno until you try stuff >.<
could be another driver very easy

This is me having a run about. Frametimes get very high, this is the stuttering. CPU usage seems to be ok and spread pretty evenly across cores. I notice page file usage went up to 6042 mb, is this normal? Seems pretty high. Ram usage 3677mb (I have 8gb).
