What phone network has the fastest or better coverage?

EE is pretty naff outside London. Inside the city both 3 and EE are matching most of the time.

Though 3 has unlimited data...

Outside of London 3 is the best from all my train journeys back and forth and on the road. Even when 4G isn't available, 3G is 20+MBps.

EE achieved 66 meg at work last time I tried it, thats down in Cornwall. Given we're only just getting running water and electricity down here ( ;) ) it's pretty good!

There's an outside London!?

Your doing it wrong :p

The air is clean down here, come and try some! Stoosh will vouch ;)

Area dependant. I went with Three again after my previous contract as for my area they seem to be faultless (apart from the fact 3G doesn't penetrate buildings :p). It was also by far the cheapest to suit my needs.

100% dependent on area. It's why surveys, other user's experiences (aside from those that frequent the same areas), and coverage checkers and whatever else are useless - it's extremely difficult to get a realistic idea of what the performance and signal you'll get.

What I will say is that I've noticed a big degradation in performance on Three in recent times, and others have reported the same. In the areas I will usually be, O2 and EE trade blows, however I don't trust O2 to provide decent performance elsewhere.

There is a app on android called OpenSignal which shows coverage of each network for 3g and 4g etc.
From the map it looks like EE are best for 4g coverage and are similar to Vodafone.

It also shows coverage for your area and where the cell towers are and which you are connected to.

EE have by far the best coverage of 4G and 3G but are lacking somewhat in the 2G area, not that it matters unless you're in the sticks. They are also the fastest network. Totally depends where you are though.

Generally I've found it go something like this...

O2 - best for 2G
Vodafone - good for nothing
EE - best for 4G speed and coverage
3 - good alternative to EE, catching up (albeit slowly) and unlimited data

Ain't nobody got time fo that :o

But it heavily varies in different areas. For me, O2 offers me the best coverage, followed by 3 and Vodafone, with EE last. In terms of speed it's 3 first, then EE and lastly O2 and Vodafone. This is around Greater East London. In Central London where I work... All networks have dead spots to be honest :p.

Another "easy" way is ask family and friends on different networks who live and work around the same area as you and see how they find it.
