hey guys this is my build so far and all i need to complete the build is a psu, cpu cooler and a case.

before i decide on my case i want to know how many watts i would need for this build and also if i need a different cpu cooler than the one provided with the cpu itself. thank you

oh and i prefer a modular psu for better cable management.

Do you plan at any point to go xfire or sli? (Dual+ GFX)
That would dictate what PSU you choose.

If you aren't, a good 500/600 watt PSU will be plenty.

what is the difference between gold psu and bronze psu? will it affect how my build works in terms of power and performance? will it blow up my components or something like that or is it just to save money from the electricity bill?

Just this, there is a chart here showing the difference.

I'm a great fan of the Seasonic just because OcUK coveres the warranties on Seasonics behalf :)

However I believe 8pack uses the Antecs because of their extremely reliable power regulation?

ive not seen any negative reviews on it, whats bad about the internals because in price comparison it seems like a great psu

The Antec and Seasonics are made by Seasonic, the RM series is either CWT (channel well tech) or Chicony power tech.

Seasonic are considered one of the best, but Delta Electronics are also making some great PSU's and beating Seasonic at their own game in the high-end PSU market it seems.

When picking the wattage it should be "enough but not too much", as a PSU with a higher capacity will waste more power than a lower one if they have the same efficiency.

PCs are very efficient these days, e.g. this machine with a 4770K and a Titan never used more than 350 W during a benchmark run. (It's also interesting to see the 8350 only using about 50 W more.)

Overclocking will push this up considerably though, so 500 W is probably a good target. More is probably a waste.

Good review. Amazing how simple PSUs are these days thanks to high-power ICs.
