At uni I'm either going to have internet via wifi or an ethernet connection.
I want to be able to access the internet, my NAS device and my network printer all wirelessly from my laptop.

To do this am I right in thinking I'll need a wireless access point such as the Linksys WAP54G?
Thanks

Unless the provider's going to be dishing out IPs for all those devices, and you want them all to be publically available, a router would be a better option, like the WRT54GL.

I would also like to extend the range of my wireless network at home, would the WRT54GL be able to do this? I currently have a Linksys WAG354G ADSL modem.

How would I go about setting this up? Anything special I have to do on either device? Or do I just set them to use the same SSID, WPA key and channel?
Thanks

You'll need to set them up to use WDS, and AFAIK the Linksys firmware won't do WPA over WDS - the manual is your friend.
