What PS3 games to get on release?

Motorstorm for definite , umming and ahhing about F1 as handling is meant to be terrible, maybe RR but did most of it on X360, definitely GT5 HD and a few other d/l's - wishing there was a decent SSX out at launch, maybe Tony Hawk

Motorstorm and RFOM without a doubt. To be honest we shouldn't even be mentioning Oblivion when it's cheaper, bigger (mods/expansions) and better looking on a PC!

I'm getting a PS3 for RFoM, Motorstorm, MGS4, GTA4, GTHD, Blu-Ray (which is the winning format) and the fact it supports HDCP so I can use it with my Samsung SM215TW.

Motorstorm / RfoM is a must..

Then it's down to preference, I'd stay well clear of RR7 however, it's a 5 minute wonder..

Is it similar to the 360 on as that was pants!

RR7 is more fun on the PS3 than RR6.. The game is faster, graphically both are pretty much on par with each other, the gameplay is just that little bit more optimized on the PS3.. They've designed the game a little better. On the 360 you have to spend about 2hrs racing boring races.. On the PS3 you are pretty much in the heat straight from the word go.. Plus slipstreaming plays a big part.

Just so you guys know, The only reason the PS3's oblivion won't be seeing the Downloadable content is due to the developers deciding things such as the Wizards Tower and Frostcrag Spire at the beginning of the game unbalanced things. But they are talking of releasing the content later in the games PS3 life.

Rumors were rampant about the reasons behind the lack of downloadable content. Other websites have reported that the justification behind the missing missions and features was due to technical limitations of the console.

According to Hines, nothing could be farther from the truth. There were two specific reasons behind why items like the Orrery and Mehrunes's Razor will not be included within the PS3 version of the game. First of all, there was a concern about the balancing of the game and initially giving players access to a thieves den or a wizard's tower immediately at the start of the game. "There was no good way to incorporate these features into the game as soon as it started because it didn't make sense," Hines said. While he didn't rule out the possibility of some of these side quests or features making it into the game, it wouldn't necessarily be as soon as the game hit store shelves.

According to Hines, the shader functionality that would re-render the low-res textures would inevitably make its way to the 360 build and PC in future updates. However, certain optimizations that take advantage of the system's hardware will remain exclusive to the PS3 version of the game

Is it true that we (PAL territories) are the only ones getting Motorstorm as an online game?

That seems to be the most recommended by magazines and reviews but RFOM is obviously the next best choice as it's the only one worth bothering about in that genre (COD3 is meant to be terrible!).

RR7 is probably on my list. Still a firm favourite in my book and I finished the 360 version. Shame it's not gonna be too much different for PS3 but hey, can't get enough of a good thing! :D

The thing that is great with Motorstorm is that when you play online the track is made at random and different every time

I will get Motorstorm and RFOM with my PS3 and I am undecided about F1, I saw it at a retail event a few weeks ago but need to play the demo first to see how the handling is, it looks very good though but if it drives crap I will not bother.

As for RR7, I will not get that as I do not like the way the game plays, as in totally unrealistic handling/drifting.

Oblivion and TW 2007 I already have on the PC so those are also not on my list.
