What PS3 games

I finally got around to ordering a replacement laser for the PS3 I was given and I want to know what games for it I should get.
I'm really out of touch with console games and have not owned a console since the early PS2 days, so please recommend me some games :)

No FPS games though, I'll still use my PC for those. I fancy some racing games (GT5 prologue worth it?) and some RPG - anything else I should be getting?

You do know they’ll all say search etc… As this question has been asked time and time again… lol

Anyhow, if racing is your thing then you’d do worse then maybe picking up copies of –

Grid
Dirt 2
F1 2010
Split Second is quite decent for some racing mayhem.

Need for Speed Shift isn’t too bad, I found the handling twitchy.

GT5 prologue is boring to be honest. GT5 is meant to be out in time for Christmas.. We’ll all laugh when its not.

If you fancy some action gaming, then you’d do worse to pick up Uncharted and Uncharted 2.

If you fancy some button mashing God of War Collection is pretty decent, God of War III is even better, but I’d play GOW collection first.

Metal Gear Solid is a decent game if you like heavy cut scenes and stealth gaming.

Heavy Rain is ok if you don’t mind QTE (I found this game better with PS3 move TBH)

There are lots of good games, search around and look at review sites etc… Metric Critic could be a good place to look…
 
Thanks - I did do a quick search but thought I'd ask anyway :p

I had to Google what QTE was and I don't fancy that at all, seems boring!

I guess I can wait till next year for the proper GT5 then :p

I used to like MGS on the ps so I'll grab that I think.

Just some of the games I have on the PS3, Can't go wrong with any of them to be honest.

You could always download demos of games that you think you might like. There's plenty of choice on the PSN. I would say that Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted 2 are absolute must buys though. :)
 
Just thought I'd post this in here instead of making a brand new thread for it; why have I never had my interest raised by Yakuza 3? I was watching some Shenmue gameplay on YouTube the other day and someone in the comments likened the Yakuza series to Shenmue. I never played the first one on Playstation 2 and it appears Yakuza 3 which was released earlier this year can be had for around £15 brand new, with a sequel already out in Japan and set to be released here in early 2011. I had a look on Metacritic and it has a good score of 80 for critics and 8.2 for users, so after watching a few video reviews I decided to purchase it off the rainforest place. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be absolute crap but the gameplay videos and the favourable reviews suggest that it's a good game.

borderlands, final fantasy XIII, Little big planet, dont waste money on GT5 prologue, wait for the full game, it shouldn't be much longer
