Hi All

Ok I am starting my new build, I asked a question on the memory section and have ordered and had delivered my new memory
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) (MY-058-GL)
(Great price OC - well done yet again)

Next I want to know what PSU or Case I should buy

I want to buy the following items over the next 3 months, can't buy them in one hit as the wife would cut my balls off ;) So which PSU - I was thinking of using the Antec P180 - Black (Case)

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz

Motherboard waiting for the new Nvidia 680i chipset

Graphics - Waiting for Direct X 10

Thanks again boys

All i can say is pay the extra for a decent one. It will work out cheaper in the long run as it will be less likely to blow (hopefully) and take the rest of your pc with it.

Stick with the likes of Enermax, Antec trio (up to 85% efficiency), Seasonic S12 series (80+% efficiency), OCZ gamestream 700w (85% efficiency) the 600w is not as efficient, Tagan etc. Don't be tempted with a Hiper!

I would say go with either Seasonic or Enermax for the PSU, can't go wrong with them and they are worth that little bit of extra cash.

I've used both brands and have never had any of them blow on me.. yet.. touch wood!

Ok thanks to those for replying

Going too go for

Either this one
Enermax Liberty 620W ELT620AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CA-024-EN) £105.00
http://www.enermax.co.uk/products/psu/liberty/ELT620AWT/index.asp

Or

Enermax Noisetaker 600W EG701AX-VE(W) SFMA ATX2.0 SLI Compliant PSU (CA-021-EN), though it says this one is SLI Ready £88.00
http://www.enermax.co.uk/products/psu/noisetaker/eg701ax-ve(w)sfma/index.asp

Now they are both 600w or there or there abouts why is there such a difference in price and will 600w be enough for the core 2 duo and a Geforce 8800 GTX

Thanks
Exib

You are paying extra for the modular ability. To be honest though, when i had my Hiper modular i still used all the cables anyway so there was no benefit of having a modular psu. I beleive that they are both around 80% efficient. I did read a review on the Noisetaker 600w and it did'nt do that well compared to the latest psu's.

For an extra fiver you could have the 600w Seasonic S12 which is a much better psu and 85% efficient.
