I'm upgrading a skt 939 system to a Q6600 Skt 775 system. I'm using a P31 board for budget reasons. I have 2 Gig DDR2, and an old X1800XL gfx card is being retained from the old system. It's due for upgrade soon but I'm not a gamer, so no urgency there, and def. no need for dual gfx cards

How much PSU output do you reckon I need. I'll have 3 hard drives and a couple of Opticals, plus a SCSI PCI card.

My X2 4600 AMD has been using a Enermax 535 with two 12volts rails rated at 17A. Do you reckon that would suffice?

Thanks guys, lukesim I had a look at the calculator you posted and you confused the issue of multiple CPU sockets vs multi-core CPU's. The claculation came out at 343 watts for me. The credit card is going back in it's hiding palce, the 850W jobby can wait!
