How much are you willing to spend? Whats your system spec?

Personally i'd get either the HX520 or the HX620, I have the HX620 and it's a great unit, they're also modular PSU's which helps with cable management. Thats of course if you can afford them. ;)

And?

I don't think any other PSU models have been as widely adopted as the hx520 and 620 so it stands to reason that we are going to hear about more failures no? Why are some people so keen to drag their reputation down into the dumps? Companies like Hiper, Ultra, OCZ and others who have at times tried to cut corners with their PSUs certainly deserve to get slated but why Corsair?

And? Tell that to all the customers forking out a small fortune to send the PSU's to the Netherlands. :)

They can't be that good, they only came out 2 year ago yet now were hearing of a lot of failures, 5 years guarantee? I'd rather have one with a 3 years guarantee that will last 3 years.

All depends on what the specs of your system are.

What you running?

Edit:

From your other thread. The Corsair 450watt would be alright...but i recommend a higher wattage psu just for future proofing :D

I've had my 620 around 2 years now and its been absolutely fine? Infact i would recommend them to anyone, they're a great PSU!

You're just making an unfair leap in judgement there Nelly. We haven't heard about a lot of failures, it just seems that whenever someone makes a post about their Corsair failing here that people feel they have to hop in and stir things up and predict how they'll be "The next Hiper" and other ridiculous comments.

Actually there have been a lot of failures. There have also been a couple that took out other components. Couple that with the fact that you have to pay a small fortune to RMA them to the Netherlands and i would'nt buy or recommend one. The HX series are also very overpriced in my opinion.

I will be buying a PSU next week. I was originally going to buy a Corsair 520W but I have seen several threads now of Corsairs dying and it's actually put me off.
I'll be buying an Enermax Modu82+ 525W instead.

Antec neopower 650w, got it, i says it modular but in reality your gonna need every cable, but its still a great psu and great value, much cheaper than the corsair models. Also if you can afford it and need higher wattages the toughpower series are great, build a computer using the 1000w model with cable managment, very good, much better than the antec modular features

You certainly won't regret buying that. I have the 385w Pro version and it's a beauty. Very quiet and massively efficient. I have a Zalman ZM-MFC2 fan controller/real time power monitor and with my old psu my second rig was drawing 115w idle/195w load. Now it is down to 85w idle/178w load. The old psu was around 70% efficient while this one at 50% load is 90% efficient according to reviews. :)

corsair, zalman hp, enermax modu or seasonic are all great psu.

even if one recent post suggest otherwise - sometimes even good barnds have issues. I have RMA stuff (corsair memory) before it just happens with all hardware/products no matter how good, (I still use corsair memory ;)). Asus, Corsair etc... but they are also used by tons of people on these forums, and i cannot say there are tons of complaints.

Nice. :)
The Silentpcreview on the 625W version really made me interested, they do very thorough reviews and I trust them completely. Apparently the Modu82+ was the quietest PSU they have ever reviewed.
I just found out the 625W version is just £83, only £10 more expensive than the 525W version and quite a bit less than the equivalent Corsair so I'll be buying the 625W now. :)
