What PWM Temp Under 100% Load?

Im just stress testing my new clock settings and noticed in SpeedFan the PWM temp is at 57-58 degrees with alittle flame icon beside it. Searched on here (couldnt find anything directly relevant) and then google and it seems that these are safe up to temps of 65 degrees?

Ive only clocked my Q6600 to 2880Mhz using the following changes:

CPU Core 1.2725V (1 notch above stock 1.2625V)
Extrenal Clock 320Mhz (stock 266Mhz)
Multi x9
DRAM Speed (CPU : DRAM) 1:1.25 (stock 1:1.5)
PCI Express Clock 105Mhz (stock 100Mhz)

Core temps are all fine at 51, 51, 47, 49.

Anyone able to suggest a reason why the PWM temp is so high? Prime passed the 8K test and seems to be going fine on the 10k. But want to work this out before continuing clocking any further.

what mobo are you running? the abit ip35 pro pwms get very toasty unless you bolt-mod the heatpipes, or you put a fan directly over it.

I don't think 58 degrees is dangerously high for any motherboard though.
 
Have same setup when using orthos I get 55c pwm, however with a tuniq tower and the fan at it's lowest setting.
But if I turn the fan to maximum the pwm reduces to the low 40's.

On my abit ip35 pro my pwm hit 107C before I noticed it was an issue - alarms went off and computer shut down.

After bolt mod, it now hits 70C max when stress testing at 3.8Ghz but I have lots of voltage going through my mobo so no surprise there and I am watercooled so there is nothing but the case airflow cooling the heatsink on the pwm.

I found that only 6 pwm were actually touching the thermal pad on the heatsink when I took it off and only 3 with any force. No wonder they got so hot.

Best thing I ever did was the bolt mod IMO.
 
Cool, will find some now then (know what size they need to be? i dont know the sizes of m6, m8 etc). Also do you happen to know the sizes of screws/nuts? Just so i can head straight to the motorfactors without pulling my pc apart first :)
