I hate how 1440p is misleadingly labelled 4k. Actual 2K is closer to 1080p, if I remember it's 2000 horizontal resolution (close to 1920 of 1080p). I will upgrade to 1440p, but when the 1080ti/Vega are released and with one of those great 144Hz G-sync/FreeSync monitors which are currently pricey, but gettting cheaper. My next upgrade needs to be higher framerate, not just resolution. But that's just me and what I want. For other folks, I guess they'll be good upgrading to 1440p60 with a 1080/1070.

1440p 144Hz here.
Used to be oin 3840x2160, but swapped it in favor of 144Hz.

I'm actually a little surprised that 3440x1440 is more popular than 3840x2160

It's perfectly fine for my needs. I refuse to buy a new monitor until I'm not locking myself into one GPU vendor or another for adaptive sync.

Yeah the g\free sync thing is irritating, essentially if you splash out on a monitor you're stuck with that gpu vendor if you want to continue using it or have to sell the screen on to get a different one.

Then just get a non-adaptive sync one. They're cheaper and if you're happy with 60hz and 60+ fps then you don't really need that feature anyway. I can't see nvidia dropping that stranglehold anytime soon, it's just not their style (their style is greed by the shed load).

I used to game at 5760x1200 (AMD Eyefinity) with my 3 dell 24" monitors but have switched over to 3440x1440 (2k Super-wide).
