Then just get a non-adaptive sync one. They're cheaper and if you're happy with 60hz and 60+ fps then you don't really need that feature anyway. I can't see nvidia dropping that stranglehold anytime soon, it's just not their style (their style is greed by the shed load).
I don't need a new monitor for that though. I'm not unhappy with my U2414H or anything. It's a lovely monitor. The only reason I would buy a new one is adaptive sync, but not if it limits my future graphics card choices. Until that changes, I'll stick with what I have. A resolution or refresh bump alone isn't of great interest to me.

I'm still using a Samsung s27a950d 1080p 120hz monitor. It died a few months ago, but suddenly came back to life again. I'm sticking with 1080p until my monitor is completely dead, then I may go for 1440p 144hz.

Poll needs 1920x1200 and 2560x1600!

Also 2160P is UHD not 4K, if you want to be picky!

Been using a Samsung T220 since around 2009 I think. I've not really seen a reason to upgrade it as I think monitors are one of those things that you don't know what you're missing until you use something better and then you can't go back!

I find it pretty good, it's got enough resolution that it's big enough for user interfaces but it's under 1080p enough that it's a bit easier for an older GPU to run.

If I were to upgrade I'd likely go to 1440p, again so that in the future I wouldn't need an ultra high end GPU just to pull 60fps on high settings like 4k would require.

I've had a 2k IPS monitor for years but still game on my 1080p TN monitor. I just prefer it for some reason.

People make out that other more expensive things are 'sooooo much better', but they're not really.

Using a Phillips BDM4065UC 40" monitor with watercooled 2x 980Ti SLi. Plays any game at max settings without breaking a sweat.

I used to own a 30" Dell @2560 x 1600 going from 1600 to 2160 was a huge step up. I never knew games looked so amazing at 4K.

I guess size does matter, 40" 4k is so much better than smaller sized 4k monitors I have previously tested. No need to do any scaling at that size. Works very well for everything I need to do with the machine.

16:10 ratio panels aren't really made as much any more. Think there may be a few Eizo ones though, but they are really targeted at photo editing only.
