I would love to go ultrawide for certain games
...
Maybe it's just for those CS:GO fanatics who have to have the extra screen and 144hz?

Personally I'd rather have a big 16:10. I can see why a wide, shallow view is useful for FPS games with sprawling maps, but mine are all 3rd person or top-down strategy/builders, in which vertical pixels are just as valuable as horizontal :)

I have a P-L-P setup with 17s at the side and a 24 in the middle. I can stretch some games across all three, but it results in unpleasant fisheye effects on the side panels. If that's a thing with ultrawide screens then I really don't understand what the fuss is about :/

2560 x 1440 GSync/144hz

I'll move the UHD/4K when there is either:

A) Some decent 120Hz+ screens and enough power available to utilise the resolution at higher FPS without selling a kidney.

or

B) More GSync 60Hz panels, with decent panels, at lower costs and enough power available without selling a kidney.

or

C) OLED, without having to sell a kidney.
