Im no expert but it looks very nice. I am in the process of getting a Bianchi Via Nirone and have settled on a Ultrega/105 mix in componentry with FSA cranks/bottom bracket.

A few points for you to consider that I did:

A) The availability of spares for Campagnolo parts. Particularly if your out on a long ride some where with no support and only one bike shop in walking range when something breaks. They'll have Shimano, but less likely to have Campag.

B) The Campagnolo gear shifters; hard to use the inside shifter tabs when in the drops. I chose Shimano with their system of the piviting brake lever for these two reasons alone.

C) I looked up some ITM Millenium handle bars and they all appear to be round at the centre (where they are gripped by the stem). In the event that yours is some how a different model which is flat in the tops position, consider that it makes it hard/impossible to mount lights and / or most cycle computers. Stem mounting is common for computers, but not lights. This may not be an issue for you but the default spec for my Via Nirone include a flattened area on the tops for comfort (I dont use it and its unsafe anyway given the distance from brake levers). Im have mine switched out for a Bontranger rounded model as I have already have lights and a computer which require a round platform to attach to.

Just out of interest how tall are you and what is your trouser inseam or actual inseam measurement (base of foot to pelvic bone measurement I think). I am 5'10", wear 31 trousers or 33 jeans. My LBS is ordering in a 55cm frame for me.

Campag is nicer, because the cables route under the bar tape. Shimano just stick out. Therefore more drag :p Also with seperate thumb lever, and seperate lever behind the brake lever it's easier to use.

I never ride on the drops so that's not a problem.

Also it it breaks when you're riding sods law it's on sunday and the bike shops are closed. Regardless you're still going to be 10+ miles away from a bike shop, even if it's open, so it'll problably make sense to push it home, or phone up for a lift phone. tbh I don't think that's a valid arguement for choosing Shimano.

I concur, it was only a very slight influence. Ive no experience of using Campag or Shimano STI shifters, which puts me in neutral territory. I went Shimano primarily for ergonomic reasons, though that may not prove justified. :p

Also I forgot to mention, I liked the softer wider material on the hoods of the Shimano's. :D
