what router should i purchase

Hi all,

So i have this amazing superhub from virgin :rolleyes:

and have a laptop that keep losing the connection to the hub.

The laptop is 2 walls and a flight of stairs from the hub, so signal is always dropping which really annoys at times, what i want is a separate router as i heard this can now be done if i bridge connections or something.

I need a good quality router that will be reliable and not lose connection due to low signal, needs to be wireless N at least as there may be some basic gaming going on as well.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

Billion 700 or Asus RT-N56U seems to get the best of the recommendations on here. While I cant tell you anything about the billion I can tell you that the asus is a fine router. I have not used wireless to the extent you are seeking so perhaps someone else can comment on the range but other than that its easy to setup and get running along with the superhub which I have running in modem only mode myself.

Thanks for reply, i will take a look at your recommendations, was the Asus very easy to set-up? i know the basics of setting routers up, but nothing technical (software side).

well i set up the Asus and it worked straight away

i,m not really well up on tech stuff so i,d say you,ll be okay

+1 to this. I updated the fireware which was simple to do as well then it was just setup and go to be honest. I have my pc upstairs and a HDR-Fox t2 all connected to the asus and can stream stuff between them no problem but thats with a wired connection but I am lead to believe the wireless on this router is also very good.
