I am getting a laptop with a Intel GMA 900 shared 128mb graphics. I am an RTS fan and I was wondering what games I should get (that will run). Specially ones from the budget back catalogue.

Pretty old, but Red Alert 2 should run on it. Age of Empires 1 too and thier expansions of course.
Netstorm is one you could try :) My favourtite RTS which no ones heard of :p
Download for free on www.netstormhq.com ;) Its abandonware now since Activision decided to let up on it :P
Highly addictive.

Get the command and conquer: First Decade pack, only ~£25 and has some of the best strategy games out there.

Try getting hold of Total Annihilation

Warcraft II and Warcraft III

All those great games and you still managed to miss out the best one. *points at sig*

What Kreeeee said. I had it running perfectly smoothly on a Pentium 90 IIRC (might have been a 486 thinking about it) years ago, and that was quite a bit under even its own minimum specs.

Woot Netstorm: Islands at War!! I remember that game, I used to love it! Sacrificing the enemy was always fun :)

Haven't played it in years, might dig out my old original CD sometime :)

Sudden Strike, Forever, and Sudden Strike II, they were classics from CDV, i enjoyed playing that online, good thing about this game is that, you can play with upto 400 pings... :)

You used to play it? Thats great :D Not everday you find an old NSr. What was your name multiplayer?
No point in digging up the cd though. Some of the players got together and there are new patches out so you need to just download the game from the site. The latest version contains the whole game (it's around 16 mb :p) and you'l need to download it to play online.
Bunch of improvements since those days :)

You should play again :D We could always use more people.

Total Annhilation,
c&c tiberian sun / c&c red alert 2
starcraft
Cyberstorm 1 /cyberstorm 2 : Corporate wars
Tanktics (if you can find it)
Commandos behind enermy lines
Star treck away team
Gunloc
Warzone 2100
Neverwinter Nights
Worms2
Meh Commander
Star Trek: Starfleet Command 3
Uplink/street hacker
Cannon Fodder
Haegemonia
Close Combat 1-4 (only played demo of close combat 2)
Syndicate Wars
Ground Control
Hostile Waters

All above i've have/played and are good games for low spec systems for the most part. Also they should be cheap for the most part. I think all of them ran on my laptop 800hz P3, 128 ram, 10gig hd, onboard sis graphics.

Emergency 2 (not really played but sounds different)
