while playing a game my screen suddenly lost signal, i had a look in the case and noticed the gfx card fan had stopped so iassumed it was faulty. i returned it to ocuk who checked it out and are returning it to asus as faulty.
so i try to get my pc up and running on the onboard gfx but im still getting no signal. now i'm wondering whether its the motherboard thats faulty, the fans still spin but the usb ports dont seem to work. but that could be down to the pc not booting up properly.
i dont know what the problem could be and dont have any spares to test with. anyone have any ideas?

Could be any number of things tbh. Take out all but 1 stick of ram and try to power the system. If it doesn't post, try another and so on.

when going from dedicated to on-baord graphics you sometimes need to clear the C-MOS, this is to do with the drivers of the video card still being present.

Sounds like a dead gpu or board... Can you try your card on a freinds/family Pc?

Also, does the hard drive LED flash like the drive is being accessed when you start the machine?

If your card works with another PC and your disc isn't being accessed (give it a minute to start for the "Windows did not shut down correctly" or whatever it says) then perhaps it would be worth trying a new motherboard.
