What SATA 2.5" drive for my Macbook?

I don't know specifically about SATA 2.5" drives but I rate the Hitachi laptop range quite highly, they seem like good solid, quick drives so they might be worth a look for you :)

Thanx, i'll take a look. It's just a pain finding the drives at any retailers.

I am in the same boat.

At the moment, it looks like I shall be going for another Seagate - 100Gb is about £85.00 + VAT and 120Gb is ~ £95.00 + VAT.

It working out to be pretty expensive. I'm also considering just getting an external 3.5" firewire drive as I'll get a lot more storage for £.

Yes - unfortunately, laptop drives are always more expensive than dektop ones. :(

I have a couple of external enclosures (firewire and usb) and some 300Gb drives - but a bit tricky to plug them in on the train! :)

I got myself the WD Mybook Pro 250GB - slightly more expensive but it's got Firewire 400, 800 and USB2 (with 1.1 compat) - will get it when delivered around Wed.

Read a few reviews and also from feedback here - it's a good external HDD - the white also looks to match the Mac range.

Will put a personal review of it sometime this week.
