Hey all,

I'm looking for a smallish (24-26inch) Widescreen HD Screen to play my 360 and PC on and eventually the PS3\Nintendo Revolution on (should I buy one)

I've been looking at the DELL 2405FPW, would that do for all four items above?

Looking to get the best out of the 360 for now, currently have a 22" CRT, and while the 360 really does look amazing hooked up to it, i'd prefer something widescreen as most games seem to be widescreen ready out of the box these days.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

The Samsungs are great but not the best for PC usage.

The best 26" LCD TV for PC use is currently the LG 26LX2R. They also do a 32" version.

It's one of the few that offers 1:1 pixel mapping so using it with a PC is quite simply perfect. Add in the fact that is has both an HDMI port and a DVI port and it is an excellent bet for connecting up all the above. I have the 26 incher and couldn't be happier.

That sounds tempting Gordy!

What kind of Res\Refresh Rates can you get on that baby?

Thanks for the heads up mate, though I never watch TV so don't really care about that. It is purely going to be used for Consoles\PC so that will do me, Thanks again buddy, hope to see you on Live sometime :)

Gordy one more thing mate, If say I play an old game such as doom or quake on my pc that doesn't have a widescreen patch, is there a way to set the LG to 4:3 mode and give it boarders on the left and right sides?

Reason i'm asking is that I play a lot of Doom2 online (infact its the only PC game I still play) and i'm pretty sure they wouldnt have a w\s patch for the port of doom2 I play.

Thanks again dude!

More than helpful again buddy, thanks a lot Gordy!!

Deffinately going to be getting one of these, just need to wait until the 23rd (Payday)

Anyone want to buy a 22" Mitsubishi CRT? lol

Well I finally got one :D

- Thanks again GordyR!

I can not believe how good this thing is hooked up to a PC it is as clear as my CRT Monitor, that 1:1 Pixel mapping whatever it is certainly does its job!

As for the 360 - I have it hooked up with the component cable, haven't tried the VGA Cable yet. The Fight Night Demo is like playing a different game, the light and shadows look much better and the colours are more vibrant.

All in all I am very pleased, and its a lot bigger than I thought!

Thanks again for all of your help!

Here is a picture of the actual screen itself (playing doom2 :D)

And here are some VGA v's COMPONENT Pics!

Component, this is much darker than VGA but the colours are more vibrant, the picture is also not as sharp as VGA.

VGA, As you can see VGA is MUCH brighter than component but the colours do look washed, the picture is also sharper than Component.

Sorry for the poor quality in the pics, taken on my camera phone.

Hope that helps!

0gami!

Thanks Gordy, although no rush mate as I think i'll be sticking with Component, then I can leave the PC plugged into the DVI.

And the Doom2 Res is 1360*768 - in the pic its stretched to widescreen, I forgot to press 4:3

Don't want to post incase they are a competitor, but think of large high street electrical shops and i'm sure you will stumble upon it for a reasonable price :)

OcUK should stock these IMO they would be big sellers because of how good it is as a monitor.
