What security/virus software

Got a Acer laptop today which has come with a free trial or Norton Anti Virus. I purchased the laptop as a second pc, to study for an exam this year, because my other pc I have built is HTPC and hooked upto the TV etc.

Anyway looking for an antivirus software, my mcafee does not work/not compatible.

Any ideas? Is the windows firewall sufficient as well?

If not then I can recommend Kaspersky Anti Virus. The best anti virus software I have ever used.

Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 thats what I'm using.

In my opinion it is THE best Virus killer in terms of detection rate, it also has a spam killer, firewall, adware protection etc.

Free - its gotta be AOL Active Virus Shield (based on Kaspersky) doesnt take much resources, and has kept my comp safe pritty much since its been out. i used to use Avast! but this software does feel better for me.

The best AV is NOD32 by a long shot. However it is not free.

Definately recommend NOD32, you get a free 30 day trial but then have to purchase it.
