Currently using home server 2003 x86 , and its fine for my needs (ok it only detects so much of the 4 gig of ram thats in the server rig...ds3 965, wolfdale daul core !) , is there any benefits of me swapping to M$ server 2008 enterprise x64 ? Server feeds 3 pc`s, and laptops in the home. Ta .

Enterprise Edition for a household? Are you crazy?

Even if you have a MSDN subscription, it's still a gross waste of a license.

I stopped paying attention at M$ if I'm honest...

My WHS is running on a 2GHz dual core celeron, 3GB ram and still has enough omph to host a 2008 VM. If you're that interested in Windows Server 2008, this could be an option.

We only use 2008 R2 Enterprise for our Hyper-V cluster, everything else 2008 R2 is standard edition.

Enterprise is just overkill for home usage :p
