What settings have you tweaked in Vista?

UAC off (I really need to switch it back on and into quiet mode) as it was annoying me in regards to Xampp.
Indexing off, can't remember the last time I needed to search for something.
Erm... that's about it.

I'm assuming he means set both the minimum and maximum to a set size, so that windows doesn't change it as it see's fit. From what i remember, most guides recommend setting the minimum at x 1.5 your RAM, and the maximum at x2 your minimum.

I turned remote differential compression off. That's it.

All the stuff about fixing page files etc as being beneficial hasn't applied for nearly 10 years (or more if you count Win 2K, but that wasn't a mainstream home use OS).

I see the 'power users' are turning off security features and instead relying on themselves again...

disabled indexing.
tweak visuals while keeping vista looks
disabled restore as i use acronis true image
tweaked taskbar so i only have small icons

hmm thats it i beleive.
best thing is keep it clean and upto date!

UAC off.
System restore off [I use ERUNT to periodically backup the registry].
Indexing off [I effectively only ever searched the start menu anyway].
Hibernation recently disabled, switched to sleep.
Auto defrag when idle off.
Defender off.
A few other unnecessary services off.
