You have good taste, I picked up the brown ones in the US last year for about $20. They have served me well, but like all suede shoes they are looking pretty tatty now and I haven't even worn them that much.

I have the black ones, but my god did they wear away inside quickly. My pair of normal all star lasted me 2 years, these are on their way out after 6 months.

Not my taste, personally. But also, I would never buy shoes without trying them on. I'm much more interested in comfort than appearance.

Kinda the opposite with me, my low tops wore away after 6 or 7 months. I've got some black leather/suade converse now which seem to be doing good.
