I can't take having just 160GB any more. It's not enough. I've looked around and these are my choices:

A) Buy another X25-M 160GB for RAID, although does this still disable TRIM?
B) Sell and get something like a C300 256GB
C) Sell and get a 600GB Velociraptor
D) Deal with it.

So, your thoughts?

I am in the same boat with my X25 80gb, i installed Steam on it with W7 with the games i currently play but need that bit more so i am going to hold out until the refresh ones are released(you can buy a 300 or 600gb model) then use this in my pc downstairs. :)

you are surly using some HDDs as well? i have a 128gig ssd for windows and vital crap. then raid0 samsugn F3s for the rest... best of both worlds... now i just need to put 256gig SSDs in every sata port and completely phase out disks :P one day

I'd personally get another 160GB but run it as a single disk, and stick all my games and such on it. SSDs are fast enough as it is, I doubt you'd really notice the speed increase of RAID and yes it still disables TRIM.

I'm trying to hold out but I was under the impression when I got the X25M that the new G3 drives would be on shelves before the end of the year.

At the moment it's looking like Jan/Feb, and i'm really struggling now.

I don't sadly - I like having one single drive for all my installs, apps, and games and then use external drives for extra storage, such as music, videos, things like that.

Plus I don't really have room in my case for more than one drive, it's possible but a right faff.

Can I mate them together to form a single 320GB drive without using RAID? i.e Partition them as one?
