hi

ive got a 37" panasonic plasma hd tv, once ive got my elite and hd addon i would like to know what i should set my elites display too?

my specs for the tv say 1024 x 720 pixels?

so if im connected up using hdmi does that mean i should set eveything to 720p in the elites settings???

cheers

oh hell yes, you probably wont be able to tell the difference between 1080p and 720p unless you get to large tv size (40 and up in my opinion) and 720p looks better than 1080i for most things.

definately stick with progressive over interlaced, playing fast moving games or watching sports and you'd notice the difference between p/i

i think that would mean it can output 720p max:confused:

oh sorry yeah my post said 1024x720 , which surely can produce 720p as it is a hd tv??

i would mean the image would be squashed widthways. im pretty sure its a mistake though, dont think i've ever seen tv's with that res

its not even 4:3, that would be 1024 x 768, it must be a mistake.

Try your games in all the different modes your TV supports, if your like me you will probably find some games look better\run smoother\feel better in one mode over another, and other games are better in other modes.

Its all trial and error.

You've clearly not dealt with plasma displays before. They have some weird resolutions and non square "pixels". 1024*720 is probably about right as most plasmas don't do full HD resolutions.

in my manuel it says this

737,280(1024 (w) x 720 (h)
{3,072 x 720 dots}

this is panasonic 37" pv500 plasma hd tv
Don't worry, you're not srong, they are. Set it to 720p and enjoy :)
