What should I test drive so that I know what I want?

What i know i want: Quick, handles well, looks good, sounds good.

What I'm not sure if I want: More than 2 seats...

:p

Then it is broken, heavily modified, or both, and you drive like a complete bum. :D

e; You have a turbo kit, RX8 injectors, mapping, etc don't you? :p

Yep, and its not my only vehicle so its usually driven enthusiactically, it could do with some proper dyno mapping as the ignition table isn't as optimized as it could be which probably loses some economy when cruising.

I get absolute max of 30mpg with my MX5 on a run. Mostly hovers around the low to mid 20s.

I managed 37 in my 1.8 from Northampton to Powerstation and back, think that's the only longish motorway journey its ever done though

I didn't say it was much faster, I just said it was faster!

Acme, have you ever had a shot of an EP3 CTR? I kind of regret selling mine and that's with me owning an Evo 8!

I have, I ended up buying a Corolla TS, the option was a 2002 EP3 with 100K on the clock or a 2005 CTS with 78K on the clock. I bought the CTS, now I regret selling it.

I should have kept it and got coilies and a new clutch... :(

Clio 182 Cup via CTR on 5th gear. A whopping two tenths of a second between them on the test. You'll get a nice 182 for £2.5K, not sure you'll get as nice a CTR for the money.

You'll spend the difference fixing the Clio when it breaks.

Also, EP3 over FN2 every single day of the weak. The FN2 has 1bhp more but weighs twice as much and they got lazy with the rear suspension. Another thing, it'll shatter your spine.

I have had my 182 for 9 years and haven't spent a fortune :) I tend to drive it more than my E92 335i because its just so much fun to drive :p

20 years old and you want a 350 or s4. All can say is that running an insurance costs will make you suffer.

Get yourself an mx5. Cheap to run, cheap parts, easy to work on etc, good handling etc

Well all I can say is that I have wanted a V8 since I started driving at 14, but a V6 will do, and you should take anything I say until tomorrow afternoon with a pinch of salt because I am incredibly drunk... :D

At a bar atm... Just 20 year old things... :p

I am currently paying 200 a month for the CELICA GT and the Octavia combined, so insurance doesn't scare me as much as it should.

In any case, I need to get my employment situation sorted first... :)

Should look into that drinking problem you've got first maybe;) being drunkevery other day at 20 doesn't sound too good.

I was meaning that I didn't intend to get drunk :p

Was a good evening anyhow. Completely irrelevant. :)

Try a ST220 if you want V6. 6.8secs to 60, brilliant chassis for its size, great sounding engine especially with a aftermarket exhaust, nice interior with plenty of toys, super comfy recaro seats and respectable looks.

Plus you can go liven up the ST220 thread.

I'd say give an EP3 a shot. They aren't exactly slow, they handle well (especially with a good suspension and geo setup), plenty of mod-ability which let's be honest, you would love.

They're cheap enough now to give you plenty of cash left over for insurance and any upgrades you want to make.

I would suggest a DC5 over an EP3 any day of the week, but with your age the insurance might be a bit of an issue. Though saying that, I was 21 or 22 when I got mine...

DC5s are working out a few hundred cheaper to insure than my own FN2 (and other EP3s) and I'm 22 with a write-off last year and a non-fault incident, so you might be surprised at insurance quotes for them.

Your thread for this is here

:p

I think an FN2/EP3/DC5 are too similar to what ive had already.

ST220 is a good shout, they are cheap as chips these days as well. Will take another look at them... It sounds like you want yours back Rybo!

They are a bit fat so I'm not imagining 220HP will feel that inspiring though..?
