Hey, I have a two year old Evesham desktop I recently upgraded a little,
I started playing BF2142 tonight and it looks pretty decent,
but was jumping quite a bit even with a ping of 30 (my pings are normally decent).

I have,

Intel Pentium 4 3.20Ghz
Gainward Bliss 7600GT (upgraded from stock 6600GT recently)
1 Gig DDR400 RAM

HP 19" Widescreen LCD running at 1440x900 (or closest equivilant in any game)

I do have quite a few games installed on here also, but generally have most startup stuff disabled and take care of my pc..

What should I upgrade next? Is getting 2 gig of DDRII800 RAM going to make a big difference to my jumping on my pc?

Thanks guys

Alex

Defo get another gig of ram you will get a good increase in performance.
Get the same ram as you already have ddr400 just get generic 1 gig
if your not overclocking can be had for about £30.

Actually that is something I am not so sure on, I'll check it out, I have thought about those before, but is that not very expensive? Will it make much difference?

Would putting 2 gig of DDRII800Mhz RAM make much difference for gaming?

oh it sounds like an asrock board that supports all.
yes 2 gig makes a difference for gaming.

OK well right now I am saving for holiday, so RAM I will do, looking at about £75 for the overclockers special offer on, good set?

Please if you have a minute, quote me prices for a couple of different, decent:

- dual core processor
- mobo

How sensible is overclocking, and is it worth it?
