made this thread a few times but just got a bit of extra money. I have a gaming pc with the following

i5k think it's 4670
msi 280x
128gb sad
1tb standard hard drive

in a corsair carbide case

I have around 350 to upgrade and presume my gpu needs a big upgrade. Last time I looked gpus would where stupid money.

what would be a good upgrade gpu wise ? I play 1080p but may got to 1440 later
 
A few quid more would get you into GTX1070 territory which would monster everything at 1080p and be fine at 1440p. Other than that you're looking at a 6gb GTX1060 which will be a big upgrade from your 280X but obviously won't be quite as good at 1440p.

So it really depends on what you want to do in the future as if you really are dead set on going to 1440p then it would be worth saving a bit more for the 1070. If you're sticking to 1080p for a while longer then get the 1060 and either buy a bigger SSD or save the rest.
