I currently only play warzone but want to get more fps while streaming.

Spec

3090 rog strix
i9 10900k
1200w rog psu
Ddr4 3600
Rog mother board
1440p 165hz

While none streaming I get around 150-160 fps.

With streaming this drops to around 120-130
Cpu usage goes to 99% gpu sits around 97% while streaming. I was thinking about just buying a 4080 super to maybe solve this? As I want 165 fps while streaming.

I don't want to use dlss as this makes the graphics slightly blurry.

What are your thoughts?

From what I have read your cpu is more important while streaming than your gpu so your more likely to get better fps while streaming with a cpu upgrade over a gpu upgrade.

Maybe a dedicated capture card/box if you stream that much??

Oddly I tried a capture card and still suffered from fps drop.

To upgrade the cpu I will need ddr5 mother board and ram?

What model is the motherboard? You could check the CPU support list and see if you can just upgrade the processor rather than doing everything.

It's a rog maximus xiii hero if that helps.
It does, looking at the CPU list the board only supports up to the 11th Gen Intel processors.

Looks like it would be a new mobo\cpu\ram as the best CPu you could get is the 11900K but looking at the comparisons there is not much of a performance boost going to this processor.

Yes that seems to be the case. In you opinion what would you do to get that extra fps I'm after? I want it maxed at 165 fps on high settings at 1440p while streaming.

For me it's an easier job to switch out the graphics card but I am open to suggestions.

The 3090 is still a decent GPU.

Looking at the CPU side of things the 14900K over the 10900K is below

Are you sticking with Intel or would you be happy to change over to AMD?

It's stream labs obs. I had it set to cpu buy changed to gpu last tonight and I would say it was slightly higher fps I was getting.
Ok, so if changing to GPU you got higher fps that does indicate that the cpu is the bottleneck.

The 10900K is a 10 Core 20 Thread processor while the 14900K is a 24 core 32 thread processor (8 performance core and 16 efficient cores with 32 threads).

Yes when I was on cpu and streaming the cpu was at 99% when I switched the graphics card it was around 80%

prob is the 14900k is great if you want a massive electricity bill and a new radiator in your house...that and the platform is eol, so down the road you'll be doing exactly the same thing and having to upgrade your mobo if you want to change cpu again. Like it or not, the AM5 is a platform that'll be supported for at least another 2 years so something like a 7800x3d on a b650 board will will beat a 14900k while using a fraction of the power, and you'll be able to upgrade the cpu down the line too.....and I would no way use userbenchmark for comparing amd to intel...it's the most bias website I've ever seen, claiming that every reviewer out there is paid by amd to promote their cpu's and lie, as intel are superior in every way...unbelievable stuff really.

below is the 7800x3d....7min19 for CoD...7800x3d is slightly faster...other thing to consider is that the 14900k uses 30% more power to get the results (and still doesn't win)
then consider the price..14900k is £560 for cpu, 7800x3d is £390....for the £170 price difference you can buy a b650 tuf gaming wifi board included in price, so then just get the 6000c30 ram...and whereas you'll need more expensive fast ram to eek out more performance in the 14900k, the x3d doesn't mind slower ram, so 6000C30 performs just as well(actually beat) 7200C36 ram in gaming performance

not saying don't get the 14900k if your dead set on it, but really don't discount amd...their cpu's have come a long way in recent years
