What single card is best to replace my CF

Hi guys ive got 2x Radeon HD 6870s, my mate wants a CF set up so i said he could buy mine off me if i could find a single card that would perform just as well (if not better) for sensible money.

So what do you reckon guys, OCUK shop only please, i wont use anyone else.

AMD have great offers on 78xx and 7950s at the mo, from £150 to 227 each.

im not really sure of a budget, i dont know how much i should charge my mate for my two, defo no more than £300, maybe a bit more if i could get a good price for my cards.

Yes, though not by that much. The 7800 / 7900 cards are very underclocked and have plenty of headroom.

Use this as a rough guide to see what the performance is like of various cards (pre-overclock) :
