What size amp?

yup, i dug out an old cd that i had not listened to for years, without a sub there was so much of the music you couldnt hear, so you have to have "loudness" on which creeps into the vocals and slowly ruins those too...

years ago i had a pair of cerwin vega 8s in a cleverly ported box, that was so musical, no boom but sadly i feel im too old for those sort of shenanigans

Also does anyone know about the AWG of the wire and what size is recommended?
As i only have 10awg and that is rubbish isnt it?

This. There's nothing wrong with a bit of head room. :)

I have a 12 year old sub rated at 200w RMS which has about 500w going through it and it took it like a champ. But need to be easy on the gain and don't use the 'loudness' feature on the headunit as that causes clipping.
