What size memory card (SD card) are you using in your HTC desire ??

Don't really use a lot of space on the SD card myself, not a big video or music user on my phone, either way I use an 8gb card.

(using a GT-I5700, not a desire, just thought I would contribute)

at more than twice the price, more like 3x the price, it seems crazy!!

Aye - it may seem crazy :)
However once 2.2 is released apps can go on the Sim.
Add in the fact I don't like to carry phone and iPod - so loads of music.
I don't want the hassle of swapping SIMs once Apps are installed on them.

Sure it's an expensive upgrade but that's it - largest (currently) memory installed, never need to take the cover off again :)

Apps are tiny, well the majority are under 1mb! With 2.2 apps to sd its gonna take thousands of apps to fill a large sd card!

I have done, you shouldn't get any stick for that though :p
They are 32GB micro sd cards,,,Not 2x16gb

I know, and they are fake/dodgy ones, they have about 2-3GB capacity.

My comment about the 2x16GB ones was separate :)

If you bought one of those from the Bay, and they only had 2-3gb capacity you could just get a simple refund.

Whats the harm of using of these ones btw?

I suspect there is more to it than that to be honest.

Quite a lot of people have bought them and I expect you would have nothing but trouble trying to get a refund one way or another.

By all means, try it if you like and see.

I'll make this in a new post so you might all see it better :p

I've just been having a read about these MicroSD cards for sale, more specifically the dirt cheap 32GB ones on eBay.

It would appear that they basically have around 2-6 GB of good sectors, and the rest are trashed. These good sectors reduce day by day every time your card is used/written/connected to something.

In a nutshell, they are fake and eBay keep pulling them.

Give this thread a read, ALL OF IT, not just up to the part where the guy thinks he has a proper one for $25, as that soon turns to dust :p

Oops, already tried it and am waiting for it to be delivered.
I might have to suck up a 16Gb one, cannot afford a 32gb at the moment :(

Same as the fake sony memory sticks that used to be sold on ebay (or still do)

I had the issue with a memory stick bought from a competitor. I can't remember the exact ins and outs but basically it was a 512MB stick which had been edited to report 4GB to the system (this was a while ago). You didn't have any problems with it when you were using less than 512MB but as soon as you went over that it would hang, write errors etc. To be fair they did replace it without any hassles.
