You’ll just have to rely on my terrible description I’m afraid.

It was a synthy instrumental as far as I can recall, sort of like Kraftwork or of that era. I recall hearing it at primary school and then later on Radio 2.

It would have big synth chords that powered out over 8ish bars and then this dramatic descending widdly bit.

Zoooommmmmmmmm
Zoooommmmmmmmm
Widdlywiddluwdillywdilluwdiluwldkwidld.....

Any ideas? :D

Thanks for the guesses but nobody has it yet. From what I remember it was an instrumental.

Also it had sort of a dungeons and dragons vibe.

It deffo had a Gary Numan / Kraftworky sound!

Maybe it was from a film? Hmm.

Here’s an audio clip!

My incredible skills were interrupted by the disapproving face of my partner, who was also sat on the sofa at the time :D

The first bit is probably completely wrong but the doodly bit, that’s perfection that is.

Here's my guesses from the "singing" heh:

One of These Days by Pink Floyd.

If not maybe Sirius by Alan Parsons Project

If not that maybe something off Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield.

Something by Tangerine Dream? they produced some stuff like that (We Were Set Up, Love on a Real Train).

EDIT: Throwing out some stuff that sounds similar to that one above you say is close:

Scarface Theme
Vangelis especially Conquest of Paradise
Some random KLF tracks.
