what sort of mmo would you create

Planetside crossed with Escape from LA.

Some massive city has been turned in to a prison and you get thrown in to the middle of it. Lots of little gangs fighting for control of territory.

Lots of weapons, tactics, and non combat roles like engineers for repairing vehicles, weapons etc.

Lots of potential :D

Remember reading a sci-fi novel once where everyone plugged into a computer which gave them control over a very tiny model human (a real, physical working model). All the models were then kitted out with tiny weapons, and dropped into a real ants nets. The goal of the game was to kill the queen without getting your little man eaten.

I want to play that game :D

a forumesque MMO

you start off as a complete noob with a post count of 0 and through lots of grinding(spamming) your level increases and you ......oh wait that sounds a lot like something thats a forum and not an mmo :(

wonder if ocuk could charge a tenner a month for ocuk the mmo?

But spiders wait for hours on end for just 1 fly, I can't see this being fun let alone something you'd want to pay for.

Ban.

it wont just be about waiting for flys to hit you're web , you would have other player spiders trying to kill you or something or destroy you're web.

Political espionage thriller, done in a Jack Bauer, 24, CTU style! With double agents, triple agents, quadruple agents! gadgets, guns, helicopters and jets.

I would expand a little bit on the spider concept.
It's called "Nature!", you can choose any one of 8.7million species.
Balance would not be an issue as most "classes" only get one life! only the strongest and most intelligent will survive!

A mmo based on the homeworld series essentially making it a mmorts type game.

So everyone commands their own mothership which can be upgraded over time with resources gained through mining or doing various other tasks/quests. There would be space stations to dock at where quests could be obtained.

There would be 1 universe with no separate servers so like Eve in terms of scale. You move around through hyper spacing which costs resources.

You could only communicate with other people if you have met them before and know their unique id or in some sort of federation/guild thing. Apart from that all you can do if broadcast into the abyss of space and if someone choses to respond they reveal themselves.

To trade between ships would take actual ships which have to be loaded up and sent to the other mothership, which in turn could be intercepted by hostile parties.

You yourself would play as a a commander who is integrated into the ship and essentially cannot die through some tech voodu so any skills gained with a commander would persist. However you also spend time and resources upgrading your mothership, and when that is lost your mothership starts afresh. Basic ship upgrades would be easy but more advanced ones would take a lot of effort to gain.

Combat would be like normal homeworld series of games so in full 3d but with the ability for you to avoid it completely if you have the resources to hyperspace away. There would also be ways of locking you down so you cannot escape either through skill or chance.

Hopefully one day there will be something like this anyway but i really doubt it..infact are there any mmorts games that exist?

I've yet to see another game have the rare unlock of a special class through (at first) what seemed to be random acts for becoming force sensitive ala SWG Pre-CU.

I know I was young but my PC sucked and it sometimes took 5 minutes to zone haha.. and I remember spending a good hour just to see a real life jedi!

I'd love for another star wars game to do this, I cant wait for SWG-Emu just for nostalgia - any kind of game that did this concept would be awesome! :)

TBH that does sound a lot like eve, granted to command "units" like that basically means making your way up one of the larger corporations so you can command fleets of players.
