What spec do i need?

Current pc is really showing age so need to upgrade/new pc.

Currently on;

2.8 p4
2gb ram
1800xt 256mb
Sata HDD - 80gb
2x ide HDD
2x ide DVDrw
Antec 1080amg
Hiper 425w
XP Home
24" tft

Use it for burning/copying media. Office work and playing a few games inc Simcity 4 poss maybe BF3 but dont need/expect it max or near.

So ideally looking to keep much as possible and change whatever needs doing dont mind new or second hand, so what should i be aiming for?

2.8 p4 - sell
2gb ram - what type of ram (DDR1, 2 or 3?)
1800xt 256mb - from what i can find it doesnt seem too bad. 71FPS on far cry @max @1600x1200 isnt too shabby and should play games at reasonable settings. happy to be proved wrong though
Sata HDD - 80gb - no reason not to keep it. buy another one if you need to though
2x ide HDD - if you can use it you might as well keep it (the newest stuff doesnt support IDE unless you get a PCI card for them)
2x ide DVDrw - as above
Antec 1080amg - looks pretty good for an old case
Hiper 425w - definitely bin this, unless you want to be a member of the hiper explosive club
XP Home - unless there are some games that wont run on XP then you dont have to change
24" tft - nothing wrong with that imo

as above, we need an idea of the budget to work out whats best to change

Ideally about 4-500 max and been given copy of win 7 and RAM is ddr
