What speed should i be getting? Laptop using 3G

hi there, just bought a 3G card for my laptop, put in my sim card connected up and it seems slow.

what speeds should i be getting from this?

Anywhere between 384kbps and 7.2Mbps. It really depends on your card and network.

They can be that high, I would not expect much above 0.5 - 1 Mbps outside of london.

T-MOBILE Option Globetrotter GT is the card i have, using it on T-Mobile

doesnt have HSDPA so im limited to 384kbs and its slow.. guess i'll have to keep my eye out for an HSDPA one for better speeds.

They can if the network supports HSDPA, I get around 3mpbs in Plymouth for example.

I get about 300kbps through my phone, which says 3.5g in the signal bar. Which is HSDPA apparently

Im with T-Mobile inEdinburgh i go in and out of 3.5G and i notice the difference a lot, but i've never checked speeds, very happy with it though

i dont think my datacard can do 3.5g so im stuck on almost 400kbit which seems fine to me for forums etc and the less graphically designed webpages and web msn.
