What speed should you run the memory at for max performance

I've just brought a Pentium Duel Core E2180 and when overclocking i'm not sure what speed i should be running the memory at. Should i be trying to keep it at the twice speed of the front side bus or just aim to run it as fast as possible. Reason i ask is my memory rated at 1000mhz but the front side i'm only runing at between 250mhz and 300mhz, so i've got lots of head room to clock the ram faster and i'm not sure if that will increase performance or slow it down.

I'd probably run the memory at about times 3 depending on what clock speed you manage to get. you should be able to get 320 fsb (x10 would give 3.2GHz) using a decent cooler, meaning the memory will be running at 960. Then either tighten the timings or lower the voltage to make them last longer.

Best to start at x2 or 1:1 first to see what you can get out of the cpu first. Then adjust the ram dividers to get as close to the 1000mhz ram speed.
