Have made up mind to take the plunge and get a single ssd to add to existing setup (see sig) is there any thing that I need to know before ordering, looking at the Crucial M225 128GB 2.5" SATA-II doyou think it will do?
Be putting O/S and main programs on it.

Thanks in advance forum has been right upto now rock on!!!!!!

SSD's are still a bit on the 'new' side. They still have their problems.

However the one you specced is probably the best one money can buy atm, apart from the Intel ones, however they cost a fortune and aren't very big.

The Crucial ones also come with a 5 year warranty where as most others only comes with a 2 year warranty. So this gives you peace of mind that if it does go then you can get a replacement.

:)

The new Crucials are slightly better value at the moment.
The generation two Intels are the best performers under desktop use.
OCZ generally have better, more informed support.

I'd say get the Crucial for price/performance. I'm running a 256gb one and very happy with performance. A nice step up from Raptors in RAID0.

Also don't forget to get a 2.5" to 3.5" bay adaptor so you can fit it in your chassis.

The 128 Crucial is looking very good .. just wish pay day would come sooner but looks like stock is a problem so might be waiting a bit.

every time i see reports i have been looking and getting more tempted .. was going to get the 64 but the 128 is only £50 more from what i was looking at spending so why not get a nice 128 and have the extra speed and space
