I know I should do more research myself, but I don't really have the time to trawl the internet comparing benchmarks on various sites.

I've looked at the SDD MEGA TEST in this very forum, and the recommended one for my needs was the M4 or Performance Pro.

Is this still true? I see that Sandisk SSDs are on special this weekend... how do they stack up?

I am not reallythat into gaming (Xbox for that). I am using my pc for photoshop and business stuff. Though some gaming may occur.

I'd be looking for a 120Gb size drive, as I intend to use the drive for multi OS system Win7 (might go with Win8) and Ubuntu. My data will live between a SATA3 500Gb and a 1Tb SATA2 drive and my FreeNAS box.

Many thanks

I have the Sandisk 240Gb Extreme and am happy with it. The system feels fast and programs on the SSD open instantaneously. I am running SATA III on the AMD SB850 so probably not as quick as Intel RST.

I went with the Sandisk the last time it was on offer at £155 and my choice was between Samsung and Sandisk for the toggle Nand, the Samsung was out of stock but as Sandisk are also a well known flash storage provider I chose them.

I have the M4 128GB and it is fantastic, I doubt you will see anyone here say anything different.
Crucial support and firmware updates very good and the reliability is proven.

The new Samsung 830 series are supposed to be very good too (according to PC Format mag).

corsair force gt(red one) are good too,no issues at all with mine

Marzipanogram, that thread was the one I had looked at orignially. I started reading the link you posted earlier. There is a lt of iformation to get my head around.

I was tempted by the samsung 830 series as I've used loasd of their Spinpont drives over the years and I really like them. The Sandisk ones looked good to me and as I use their flash cards for my camera so I know they're a reputable brand.
