Hi all. Ive tried looking at the specs for my mobo but not sure if it is sata 3 or not. Anyone advice on what would be a good ssd preferably a 128gb for the UD5 rev.1 mobo plz?
Thanks in advance for any help :)

If you have Windows 7 you might also want to check if the SanDisk supports TRIM which keeps your drive running as good as new. This is because the Kingston specifies it has TRIM but the SanDisk does not and if you find it doesn't have TRIM at all then I would recommend the Kingston instead. Windows 7 is the only Windows Operating System that supports TRIM.

Thx for replies and suggestions guys. Bit disasapointed when it sounds like can only make use of sata2 drives so looked at gigabyte u.k site. Does this part ive pasted mean it can use the sata3? -

7.Provides newest Marvell SE9128 high speed SATA3 storage interface with superfast 6Gbps link speed .

Taken from thier specs page on the mobo.

Looking at the specs of your mobo it says......"Marvell 9128 chip 0.2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (GSATA3_6, GSATA3_7) supporting up to 2 SATA 6Gb/s devices"

So it should be fine with SATA3 but the Marvell SATA3 is known to be pretty poor so you may not get full speeds ?.

If its the x58 it won't have SATA3,if its x58a it will have Marvell SATA3

Tbh you won't notice any difference on sata2,will boot up just as fast
