What sunblock do you use?

Unless I'm sat on a beach I don't, but otherwise I normally go for some factor 15 whatever brand SHWBO has - I'm fortunate that I tend not to burn, but my Mediterranean blood helps and tend to go very brown.

You need to look at the UVA and UVB ratings - the first being the more important for protecting from cancer so look for that rating, the latter is more dealing with skin ageing and damage.

:o

Whatever you use, you need to re-apply it - not when you think you might be burning, but they say every 20mins.

Even if you're not burning, the rays are still penetrating your skin.

uh oh, kinda glad amazon p20 wont ship to IOW, i like my orange high vis bright. still not sure if my last near mis was due to me being a high-vis too fast idiot or my rear tyre screeching while locked up - driver heard it and stopped pulling out.

yay i live :)

Hawaiian Tropic. Factor in how pasty you are and go from there on the factor... seems to do the trick with me... Put some on my neck if i'm going out and the sun is strong. but i typically wear a rash guard if at the beach... Saves putting all that crap over me. I'm so done with all that trying to get a tan now that I live in the sunshine state... Gimme some shade instead please.

I've also had good success with p20. It is a little unnerving to use once a day sun tan lotion, so I tended to apply regular spf50 creams in too every few hours but can't say I had any reason to doubt it. The main issue is you can rub it off quite easily when wet apparently, so drying yourself after swimming, rubbing a sweaty forehead, putting on clothes and taking them off will all cause issues.

I just don't understand why all sun creams aren't like that though?

I would be a little dubious about a once a day sunblock too. Surely it would depend on the type of climate you are in and your skin type. If you burn easily and in a hot climate such as the Middle East you could say your skin would normally burn in 15 minutes exposure, then SPF 50 would theoretically give you 12.5 hours protection. In practice i would expect a fair bit less. Still, you cant be too safe and applying sunblock every few hours as you say would be a wise precaution.

Quick edit. Im guessing that its just the way this product is marketed, all creams perform in a similar manner. I always buy the cheap own brand stuff from Woolies (supermarket) in 2L pump dispensers

Slip Slop Slap as they say :)

Reimanns P20

this

everyone i know who is tattooed uses this. lasts ages. no point bothering with anything else, but then i dont like to get tanned at the risk of looking like the mahogany man.

*likelihood of this is slim due to never taking holidays
