Ordered some new shoes earlier in the week and they just arrived, question is what is this tag on the shoes?
They were bought from Size? so could have been taken from in store therefore electrical security tag? Or is it something else? Safe to try and cut to remove?

Can just make out the invoice in the background so you guys don't jump to conclusions ;)

Don't have a landline and not really wanting extortionate charges so will fire off an email to their customer services and await reply unless anyone can confirm earlier if it's safe to just cut it off!

I have always wondered, aren't these tags fairly useless as criminals know how to take them off or have equipment that can? I guess they are just a preventative against casual shop lifters.

Dared it and cut away. Looks like it was just an electronic tag so ordeal over!
They're white leather skytops ordered from size.co.uk, 4th pair of Supras so far and I have more on the way!

In a shoe shop you can't really go somewhere private that you could remove a tag, as they don't have changing rooms. Secondly a shoe shop also has the benefit that only one shoe is on display.

Somewhere like Size? tends to take their security more seriously though because obviously trainers are popular with young people and some will try and shoplift.

I'd imagine in the case of the OP, these shoes were in a shop, rather than a Warehouse, so that's why there is a tag on them. At the end of the day, your options are either going to be send them back, take them into one of their stores, or cut it off yourself. Looks easy enough to remove yourself and like others have said, if it is ink loaded, then just cover the shoe first.

I once had one of the more traditional tags still on a snowboard jacket I bought in New Zeland. It actually took me a cut 30 mins of hacking to get the thing off.
