Crucial M500 240GB HERE

Kingston HyperX 3K HERE

i had a second M500 that my friend is using but he as just ordered an Kingston HyperX 3K, he as asked if i just want his new drive so there is no faffing about for him.
But i would like to know what is the better drive. i was running two m500's in raid 0, i dont want to mess about formatting for re-raid so it dont matter to me as i would be using it as a second drive. just want want to say yes and end up with a slower drive

well from the 2 links the M500 one has the following read and write speeds

- Interface: SATA 6Gb/s
- Sustained Sequential Read: 500MB/s
- Sustained Sequential Write: 250MB/s
- Random Read (4k transfer): 72,000 IOPS
- Random Write (4k transfer): 60,000 IOPS

the hyper X drive has the following

•95k IOPS
•Capacity: 240GB
•Controller: SandForce SF-2281
•Maximum Read: 555MB/sec
•Maximum Write: 510MB/sec
•Max I/O Per Second (IOPS): 95000 IOPS (4KB File, READ)

the Hyper X has faster write and read speeds compared the M500 drive, take it you would be using this is a sata 3 (6gb/s) port?

thaat depends on how you look at this, Hyper list the MAX, M500 lists the Sustained

yes it would be sata 3
