PS3 hooked up to a Dell 2407 via a HDMI -> DVI cable.

My monitor just enters power save mode when I select HDMI on the PS3

I've reset the display settings by holding down the power button, I've tried two other HDMI cables with a DVI adapter and still the same thing.

I carted the PS3 across the road to my sister-in-law's and plugged in into her spangly new 1080P TV via HDMi and it worked fine.

Help!

Edit: Component works fine but looks like turd, that's not an option, I need to get this working over DVI else I'll cry.

You traded in that elite after all for a PS3?

Told you the winds are changing on the console section of Ocuk, your gonna get R6V for the ps3 now ;)

Not likely! I'll have no one to play with :p

It would appear there's something wrong with my screen, going to have to call Dell on Monday and get it swapped under warranty.

You will - me! :)

I'm awaiting for it to be delivered. I just purchased it at £17.99 but it's out of stock.

Ah he meant R6V2 that's out next month :)

That's one for the 360 for me, all my 360 homies will be playing it! :p

It turns out it is my screen that's the problem, have just tried my PS3 on a 2407 at work and it works fine.

I'll be calling Dell in the morning!

It just happens round here :p

I'm on the phone to Dell right now, this is my 3rd phone call of the day and they're driving me mad.

I don't have the original works number from when the monitor was bought, allI have is the serial number but that's apparently no good to them.

How the hell am I meant to get it replaced under the warranty without a number off the original packaging? :(

I have a helpful guy has me on hold right now trying to sort something out, you would have thought it'd be easy.
