What the hell happened to decent instructions?

some of the products you buy from abroad are hilarous because when they try to write instructions in english, you just have to end up laughing at their stupidity

I didn't mean to cause any kind of offence :(

I too actually prefer having something in hand to read whether it maybe a manual or even a book (dislike those e-reader things).
 
tbh like said before all you need is a hammer to assemble any item from scratch if your a alpha male

then when you put the item together chuck all the useless left overs in the broken cupboard in the kitchen :D

I've just said this in another thread but I had no gizmo's at school (only a slide rule) but I've got through technology without instruction manuals.
 
You seem to have a different sense of enjoyment to me, I very rarely read manuals and certainly not for pleasure. Occasionally if I'm really struggling to do something I think I should be able to do with a product I'll look at the manual but more often than not I tend to just sit down and think about how I'd expect it to work or try it out until I get the function I was expecting working.

And so have I but that doesn't mean it's OK to have manuals produced with nothing more than MS Paint and Google Translate :D

Most things have been made the same, therefore if you can work one product you can work them all. As well,as a lot of work done on UI and the link. Meaning things are so much more intuitive today.

Then you have cost cutting and manuals can be downloaded and just a quick get started guide in the box.
We better not forget the no repair throw away society either, thats been a huge game changer. But also unlike the name suggest is a product of modern technology and electronics.


You really had fun reading the manual:confused:. The manual was always a last resort before blowing a gasket.
 
Today we are all so familiar with scrolling through an electronic menu that most of us know how to use a tv / DVD player without thinking. Most products utilise common sense more than anything.

Even with instructions, you will probably get into a rage assembling an ikea product, they are so infuriating!
 
I hate when you get a weighty instruction manual only to find it's been reproduced in 20 different languages and the English part only covers a few pages.
