What the hell I'm getting sued?

As before, just ignore it unless you get something through the post.

Unless it arrives through the post to your address, addressed to you as the defendant then ignore it. Once/if you do receive any mail on the subject, seek professional legal advice (CAB for example) and go from there.

As per any legal action - do not say or return any email unless through your legal representatives.

^^ Exactly. People get too overworked over some sending an email which is written vaguely threatening.

And besides, the burden of proof is on them, so you have no need to send them anything.

Ignore it Bun, they can't stop you from selling a pair of jeans that you bought and no longer want for whatever reason. They will not take any action against you as the cost would be enormous and they wouldn't have a chance of winning. I expect its just a wind-up but just ignore and get the jeans back up for sale. :)

I wouldn't ever take anything sent by email as a legal threat. Anyone who want's to take you to court would probably have your address and would write to you by post, via a solicitor. Get your jeans back up and sell them.

It's not like they would know if they are fake or not if they haven't seen the product in person.

I can't believe the majority of people in this thread are taking it seriously, it's clearly not legitimate and is someone messing around or trying to scare him off selling there.

I'm pretty sure that anything sent through email can't be taken legally. And even if the post to your address a letter they have to ascertain that you have read and acknowledged the letter (conceivably your pet dog/girlfriend ate all such letters placed through your letterbox).

The first thing they have to do is get you to write back saying you acknowledge their concerns and admit to selling a pair of jeans. They then have to prove you are either a business or a black market dealer selling counterfeit products.

Since you have sold a single product and are not a business then this is not a problem. They would have also needed to receive one of the counterfeit products you allegedly sold. Furthermore, they would have to rpove that you were willingly buying and selling counterfeit goods. Finally, above all, they have to prove that this isn't simply someone selling some unwanted items- which it is.

IGNORE

They are trying to get you to send a scanned copy of the COA, as they can then use this in future scams to prove that their own counterfeit goods are "real". Delete the mail and don't reply to them again.
