What the Hell is going on with the crazy Intel prices both New and Secondhand?

Shops are selling the new i3's for higher prices than the new i5's and people are still selling old Quads like they are still top of the range CPU's even though they are the hardest hit in performance loss with all these security flaws and no Bios fixes...

People pay for branding, clueless about what the product is, all they see is Intel and its expensive = good.

It does amaze me that even Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge Core i7s have held their value. I guess because in gaming at least they are still very capable and spending £60 on upgrading and old Core i5 is still decent value compared to spending hundreds on a new system with DDR4, etc.

I sold my old i5 6600k for £130 i was expecting somewhere between £40-80 quite nice.

eBay total nobbers though and took % forgot to wait for £1 fees.

8700k is still selling new the same price I paid back in December 2017.

Can’t wait to sell it

Intel + NVIDIA = good resale value

I purchased 2700x for £300 and sold it for £230. B450 motherboard for £185 £123 and sold for £57. I guess not many people care about AM4 being future proof.

Well i3 are may be better than i5 hahahaha :D :D :D I am old machine fan and user. I did upgrade to a top rated machine with allot of rescources but.. it was working worse than my old laptop and desktop ( the laptop is from 2005 model the PC was from 2006 ). I trwo it in to the trash, turned out defective video card.. no return was possible at the time, because happened after the 12 month warranty ... Other one that i've got soon for my wife wasnt even capable to work with simple taks as watching videos, movies, internet browsing... Started with blue screens ( again after the waranty period over ), it turned out to be dead motherboard.. I checked it when it died after 2 weeks of bluescreens. Both ware top seller trademarks and different ones.. Not to mention ones that are from clients.... I just dont want to by new machine.... My ''newest'' laptop that supports win 10 and works good is from 2007 Acer :D and guess what with less rescources was running better than my wifes one with big ram, i5 processor, 1 GB ATI video etc.

I picked up a used i5-8500 for £110 last night for Plex server, thought that was a good price. I know you can get the 2600 new for the same price but it lacks the UHD 630 which is excellent for Plex transcoding so I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces!
